Mud Run

Ladies,

We tried. The trail wasn't muddy enough to be a true test of your earthiness, but we gave it a good shot. At any rate it was fun to get away from the course for another run. You guys are getting better at it, too.

We'll run easy and a bit shorter again tomorrow. I've pushed you this week, and with a race Saturday (third hard day in a week) I don't want to take things too far. Better safe than sorry for now.

Mulling over the lineup for Saturday, I think we'll go with Shelby, Danielle, Carrie, Alli, Morgan, Chloe, and Diana for Varsity. The workouts this week indicate these are the folks who've earned the spots. It will be a cool morning, probably in the sixties at race time, which will be FANTASTIC! With a flat course and cool temperatures I'm hoping for some fast times.

This course is not without challenges. It bottlenecks in places, making it somewhat tactical. What that means is, if you're not careful you can be blocked from advancing. You'll want to look at the course before the race so you have a fair idea what to watch.

Our race is at 10 AM, so we'll leave BNL at 7:30 AM. The trip is a little over an hour, but I want you to have time to walk the course. That should leave plenty of time for stretching and warming up.

Bring your flats! The course is likely to be soaked and soppy. This is going to be a mudder, I think. Also plan to bring a change of clothing.

Finally, bring a little jingle. I know there's a McDonald's a mile or so from the course... ;)

OH! Guess who scored the tying goal at the soccer game tonight? Her name rhymes with Mauran Litchell. The other soccer chicks did great too. Tough game!
