Ladies,
So it rained... sorta. It's been a month since we've had any sort of rain, so I suppose today's light shower was welcome to the farmer's. The cooler temperatures definitely were for us. What a difference a day makes!
Yesterday's workout was one of attrition, that is, very few people survived it. It fell along predictable lines, from the healthy girls finishing tapering off as fitness or injury became an increasing concern. The hot temperatures just made it easier to call it a day.
Something to know, new girls... it's about to get cooler for good. When it does, you won't believe how different this whole thing becomes. Now when I say 6 miles you moan. Once it cools, you'll be thinking way past that run onto what you'll be doing within the hour. The difference is staggering.
This weekend will be the first peek. It's actually going to be cool enough you'll all want to bring blankets and jackets. We have to leave early because we are riding the bus with the boys, who race first. That will give us a long time to wait. I would also suggest a light snack and certainly a drink, or at the very least money to purchase some.
I'm expecting fast times. You healthy girls especially should roll the dice this weekend and see what you can make happen. It's a golden opportunity against State-caliber talent. The meet will be huge, too... well over 200 runners in your race.
I'll be looking at the times from this weekend carefully. Remember, I have to make my roster of 10 soon, and every meet is important towards helping me make the decision. This one is key because it's the site of our Semi-State. Of course I'm going to want to select the girls who run best there.
Oh... did you notice I'm growing the "Bet Beard"?
