Crawford County Invite Eve

Ladies,

Tomorrow will be unusual - only 7 of our 18 girls are running. Let me be clear; I'm being cautious. While I care about every meet, I care about some more than others. For the girls that are running, go for it! You still have a chance to make the top-7 for Varsity every chance you get to run. Make the most of it!

However, what's most important is tournament. We have Conference in two weeks, then State Series. Everything we've worked for through the hot summer and tough fall comes to that. No matter what happens in the season leading up to that point, it all is a success or a failure depending on how tournament goes.

That's why most of you won't run. I can't risk hurting anyone else. I won't. There would be no way to reconcile yet another needless injury if it was easily avoidable. I hate that you miss races on an already short season, but that's how it is.

I want to give seniors the best shot at scholarships this year. I want juniors to get attention for next year. I want sophomores to create a buzz. I want freshmen to be noticed. This all happens in tournament, because that's what colleges look at in the end.

Am I building it up enough yet?

From here on out every race is RACING! No more holding back!

Tomorrow, be ready to leave (not show up) at 7 AM at the pool entrance. I'm collecting the bus, picking up the awning and ice, then I will be there. It's a long drive, so don't be late!
