Day Off, and the Meet Ahead

Ladies,

That's right, your ears weren't fooling you. We have tomorrow off. It's been two weeks of speed work, and I've run you hard. On top of that, I want you to have a chance to run fast times on Saturday. This will give you a chance to heal up a bit, too.

Before I go further, let me put some particulars down about the race Saturday.

Address: 1600 Magnolia Lane, Nashville, IN 47448

Directions: Take Highway 46 from Bloomington to Nashville. At the first light turn right. The entrance to the course is one mile past the McDonald's on right.

Race Times: Varsity girls 10:35, JV 11:40 (approximate)

I would strongly advise bringing a jacket, blanket, a drink, and a snack. It will be quite chilly in the morning, and we have a long wait due to transportation (we are riding with the boys who race early). You should probably bring a little money for food after the race in case we stop (and we likely will).

Now to the race itself... this one is important. It's the Semi-State course. It's fast. It's a good mid-season race to get a feel for where we are. The course has always been good to us, so if we can get there in the right frame of mind, we should do great things.

I know we have girls hurting. Those that can lace shoes will be running. If for some reason we have to re-evaluate race morning we will, but as of now, we are planning to run almost all of you.

It's coming down to it, girls. It's time to get in that racing mindset, because each race gets more and more important as we move along. Do you realize we are only three weeks from Conference? Four from Sectional? There really isn't that much left!
